COLD AND FROSTY

The last thing that i expected this morning when i woke up was a thin layer of freezing snow -very lovely very new year, sun is out though and i think it will soon melt, but it is bitterly cold, very reminiscent of In the Bleak Mid Winter - one of my favoiurite carols - which may heave been condemned for being too old fashioned etc - its the sound of the words, the evocation and the wonderful tunes for them and all the remembrances they carry - i may not remember which tv show, i watched over xmas, or what video games or wii games etc - but from a tune of a carol i can be carried back years to xmases gone by .
