well people do go out for the night drinking, i would have thought it would have been obvious that the amount of money spent would have been considerable, the price of alcohol and cigarettes and entrance fees to clubsetc is not cheap and prices of drinks is high therefore it is perfectly obvious that a night out and entertainment will be very expensive and there is no point going out on an evening like this unless one is prepared to spend more than one would expect or want to spend if sober - surely bartenders etc bank on the ddrinkers and everyone over spending to keep their businesses going, drinking alcohol is a very exspensive thing to do in more ways than one and leads to expenses much higher than the cost of a drink.

I think nights out are very expensive when compared to drinking the equivalent in your own home. Pubs and clubs are generally getting quieter as a consequence which drives the prices up even higher.
